How do I participate in the Million Meal Challenge?

Register on this page to take part. Once signed up, you'll get an email with directions to download the Run Across America app (available on iOS and Android) to log your activities. For every activity logged in the challenge, Run Across America will donate a meal to Feeding America, up to 10 meals per participant and 1 million meals total.

What activities count toward the challenge?

The Run Across America app supports over 30 activity types—including walking, running, biking, hiking, kayaking, yoga, and more. You can even count things like pushing a stroller or gardening—anything that gets you moving helps fight hunger. Indoor workouts count too! Use the app’s special mode to track treadmill runs, elliptical sessions, or stationary bike rides—however you move, it counts toward your 10 activities.

How are the meals donated?

For every activity logged in the challenge, Run Across America will donate a meal to Feeding America, up to 10 meals per participant and 1 million meals total. To reach our goal, we're going to need help: you can spread your impact even further by inviting friends and family to join us. Most of our events are paid, but this one's free to raise awareness and help more people. When does the challenge end?

The Million Meal Challenge runs until Thanksgiving. All activities must be completed and logged in the app by Wednesday, November 26, at 12 midnight Hawaii time to count toward the 1 million meal goal.

Is there a registration fee?

No—while most of pur events are paid, the Million Meal Challenge is completely free. We’re just asking for your movement. After your 10 meals, if you’d like to keep the momentum going, you can make your miles count for more by joining our paid Holiday Hustle challenge that includes merch rewards and 2x matched Feeding America donations.
